Virenna
A radial elevated transit hub serving as an infrastructural bridge, harmonizing long-range mobility with the dense urban fabric of Voltaris colonies.
Universe Lore
Voltaris is a speculative sci-fi universe developed as an original world-building and design research project. It centers on a sentient civilization inhabiting the planet Diaterra — formless plasma beings who utilize sophisticated biomechanical exoframes to interact with physical reality.

The Virenna Hub
Virenna is a radial transit hub designed to manage the boarding and routing of the Veltron public transport system. Elevated on massive pylons above the dense settlements, these stations act as infrastructural bridges. Their distinct radial "rays" extend in the directions of travel, visually communicating the station’s function as a central artery within the urban environment.
The Challenge
The main challenge was to integrate a massive transit system into the compact, vertically distributed life of a Voltaris colony. The station had to be prominent enough to be a landmark but elevated to avoid interfering with the city layers below. Furthermore, it needed to house the heavy mechanical systems required to pump and distribute plasma from underground rivers to the transport portals.
The Solution & Impact
I designed the hub as an elevated structure supported by tall pylons, which house both the main elevator shafts and the plasma extraction mechanisms. I utilized a metric rhythm of structural cross-beams to provide a sense of architectural lightness, allowing natural daylight to filter through and illuminate the interior platforms. By aligning the platform physiology with the Voltaris’ needs, I ensured a seamless flow between the settlement layers and the long-range transit network. The result is a structure that is not just a building, but a functional machine that keeps the civilization in motion.
